When Dreams Don’t Have to Wait: Balancing Motherhood and Design

Some believe that chasing dreams requires pressing pause, lining up priorities, or waiting for the “perfect moment”—a moment that rarely comes. But through my journey as a mother and a designer, I’ve discovered that dreams don’t have to wait. Not when your heart stands firm, your feet are grounded, and your passion burns bright like a guiding light.

ecoming a mother was the greatest gift life could have given me. It didn’t change my dreams—it made them bigger.

Today, I can say with pride and tenderness that I didn’t have to choose between being a mother and being a designer.

I chose to be both—with all my heart. There is no single version of success, and no one path to get there. My story, like the stories of so many strong women, is proof that dreams don’t expire… and they don’t have to wait.

When we embrace who we truly are, when we understand that love and ambition don’t cancel each other out but instead amplify one another, that’s when we find real balance. And in that balance, we bloom.Because dreams don’t wait. They walk with us. They grow with us. They transform with us. And they remind us, every single day, that we are exactly where we are meant to be.

My child wasn’t a pause; he became my driving force. I realized that every design project I created, every space I transformed, carried a part of the story I now share with him.

Every sketch, every material selection, every decision was no longer just about my dreams, but about building the future I envision for him too.

Balancing motherhood and leading my company, Dasha Design, has not been without challenges. There were days when exhaustion felt overwhelming, and nights filled with doubts about whether I was enough—enough as a mother, enough as a businesswoman. Yet, there have been countless moments of victory too: the joyful smiles of clients when they see their dream home brought to life, or the pure happiness in my son’s embrace after a long day.Motherhood taught me to be more creative, more strategic, more patient—and above all, stronger.

I learned that organization isn’t just essential in a design project, it’s vital in life.

I learned that asking for help is not a weakness, that delegating is a form of strength, and that caring for myself is an important part of caring for those I love. Most importantly, I learned that every stage of life holds its own beauty—and that no professional success is worth it if it isn’t shared with those who matter most.
